Historical Artistry

OMC was right at home with this turn-of-the-century historic house project. We were tasked with creating a seamless introduction of new materials into an existing environment with a rich past. The interiors were dressed with special-ordered and hand-painted artisan wallpaper, installed by award-winning guild paper hangers. Dado beams and tiled walls in the kitchen created wholeness in keeping with the historical aspects of the home. The front porch – with 125 years’ worth of stories to tell – was reinvigorated to accommodate new generations of coming together. And, just as the home itself is an heirloom to be preserved seamlessly, our journeymen ironworkers hand-forged the wrought iron gate as the magnificent setting around this jewel of an estate.
